Ultimate fighting
The fights man against man are old as humanity itself. A man had to fight in order to survive from the beginning of human civilization.
The first public fights in front of audiences were discovered in the ancient Rome. In about half of the third century before Christ the Romans took over the Etrusks custom to accompany funeral ceremony of the significant men with the fights for life and death. These first fights were located in front of deathbed where the body of the dead person was laid. The war prisoners had to fight against each other there so as to reconcile ghost of the dead person by their blood and to gain favour of Death Gods.
The Romans made an entertaining action with a various programme from this custom later. The criminals, prisoners, slaves and volunteers which were trained in huge gladiators schools had fought in these fights.
Today’s gladiators‘ fights have not many common sings with these original ones. Contemporary fights are almost without rules but not wholly.These few rules which the ultimate fights have ensure (it is proved by practise) that any weighty accident cannot happen to the fighters. Most of these fights are located on the floor and they end by capitulation of a rival after lever clap or after choking.
Beginnings of today’s ultimate fights lead to Brasil where at that time unknown Helio Gracie was looking for an opportunity to compare his Jiu-Jitsu with other kinds of the fighting art. His fighting ability reached such a high reputation that Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu – the family Gracias‘ style – had expanded to the whole Brazil, the first Vale – Tudo (all permitted) championships started and the Brazilians could compare their fighting ability.
These fights got from Brazil to USA and the huge expansion of these fights followed after a great success into the whole world.
Ultimate Fights were divided into several Kinds which are differentiated largely by a limitation of technology. It includes for example - Shootfighting – it is the softest fight with the rules, Vale Tudo, Free Fight, Pancrase and the most prestigious and the least limitated with the rules is the Ultimate fight.
They have started to appear very carefully in The Czech republic because it was not known how the public will accept it. First tournament of the ultimate fights called „THE GLADIATORS NIGHT“ took place in The Czech republic on 26 June 1997. The ultimate fights have become more popular since and they get their bounds in the course of time.
